Planning your honeymoon or know somebody who is?  In today’s fast-paced technology-driven age, chances are you have created, come across, or been invited to participate in an online registry.  Problem: Friends and family want to help make this a wonderful time to remember. Random gifts just lead to the hassle of returns.  Solution: Here is where the registry shows up and saves the day.  The best thing about the honeymoon registry is that you can direct the crowd, oh, I mean your lovely guests, specifically to the gift you would like to receive.  Online registries have evolved beyond the simple web site announcement to extensive social media integration and smart phone apps.  With ease of use as their guide, these sites facilitate the gift-getting process and enable our soon-to-be newlyweds to focus on more important things… or not.  Here is a list of my three best registry sites!

1. myregistry.com

Cost:   Free

Pros:
Add gifts from any store on the Internet
Sync with the store registries you already have
Register for cash by personalizing a gift i.e. Honeymoon fund, Baby’s college fund, etc.
Facebook and Twitter integration

*Bonus:  Smart phone app which will let you scan the bar-code of something you find while shopping for automatic inclusion!

2. honeyfund.com

Cost:   Free

Pros:
Add parts of gifts i.e. Airfare of $750 can be paid by 10 gifts of $75 each
Facebook and Twitter integration, email and printable cards.

*Bonus:  You receive the payment in the form you wish i.e. paypal, cash, and check.

3. giftregistry360.com

Cost:   Free

Pros:
Brought to you by the makers of theknot.com
Partners with major retailers including: Macys, Crate and Barrel, Target, Williams-Sonoma
Easily add gifts to cart from extensive online selections
Add gifts from any store on the Internet
Honeymoon packages available from theknot.com

*Bonus: Scan and add app

Cons: These are great sites which really help gathering funds and giving ideas of what other couple of doing.  Other than honeyfund.com, they are not specific to travel packages.  For the best of both worlds, I recommend speaking with a professional travel consultant to work out a beautiful honeymoon package and then use one of these fantastic sites to help fund it!

Best of luck!
